anci viewer is an interactive image explorer for different arrangements of climate images. Based on the open-source foundation of VIKUS Viewer we developed a web-based image data visualization system, which can display thousands of climate images in an interactive interface. By using the latest web technologies the interface allows for a performative display and free zooming to interactively access the high-resolution images.
The image layouts can be filtered via keywords according to the taxonomy of the research database Klimathek. The keywords represent semantic, formal and contextual differentiations. You can select keywords to narrow the selection of climate images.
The images can be positioned on the basis of different ordering systems. It is possible to choose a temporal arrangement according to the year of creation of the image, an arrangement of similarity parameters calculated by machine learning algorithms or an arrangement for comparing the colorfulness of the images.
Zoom and Search
You can use your touchpad or scroll wheel to zoom into the area of the climate images to see more details about them. You can also click and drag the background to move the viewing area.
The search can be used to additionally filter for individual queries beyond pre-defined keywords. You can click on the search button and type any search request.
