Hackathon I

The first anci hackathon took place on 22 and 23 November 2018 at the FH;P. It was introduced with impulse lectures on the topic of climate change communication by Prof. Dr. Birgit Schneider (University of Potsdam) and Dr. -Ing. Thomas Nocke (Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research). Afterwards, the participants tested and discussed already existing algorithms for a quantitative investigation of similarities and gained new insights into the role of images between science, politics and culture in the field of climate change communication. Our focus was also on the question of how interdisciplinary methods can influence the issues.

The hackathon took place within the framework of the network Digital Humanities of the University of Potsdam. It was organized by our research project anci, a joint project of the University of Potsdam, Potsdam University of Applied Sciences and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, funded by the Volkswagen Foundation – Initiative Mixed Methods in the Humanities.
