The first methodological approach applies itself to the horizon or the horizon line as an exemplary catch image. The research design of this study is based on John Creswell’s sequential design or exploratory design, which primarily focuses on weighted qualitative image analysis that ties with the quantitative records. Following the ensued qualitative issue and the analysis of the horizon line using the example of climate images of the polar sea and CO2 emissions, the question of their quantitative connectivity, enhancement and affirmation arises methodologically. The quantitative method is thus questioned as the role of a corrective.
