Tools

During the three years of research, the project used a variety of tools ranging from out-of-the-box solutions, like spreadsheets, to software frameworks, like OpenCV as computer vision package for Python, but also self-written applications and scripts.

Our own anci toolset includes a web scraping application called anci miner – which we developed and programmed as main-outcome of our research endeavor, anci plotter – a data visualisation interface which allows quick insights to main themes within a text corpus, and we also develop the anci viewer as an online interface to analyse and order large amounts of image data.


We plan to publish all of our tools open access by the end of the year.
